As the concert technician for Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT, I have happily tuned for the great Dave Brubeck, Leon Redbone, Judy Collins, Richard Marx, and Rachel Z.

TIME: approx. 1 to 1.5 hours. The tuning is set to A440, or international pitch. This means when another instrument plays alongside a piano, the two will sound in tune with each other.
BEEN YEARS SINCE THE LAST TUNING?
Don't worry. Often times a 2nd tuning or "pitch raise" is needed to increase the string tension allowing for better tuning stability.

If your piano answers yes to any of the questions, it means your piano needs regulation. Simply put, regulation is the act of making action adjustments and refinements.
Piano actions and their aligments tend to change dimensions over time through normal usage as well as humidity changes. It is common to perform a full regulation on the action at least once every 10 years, whereas concert pianos receive more frequent adjustments.
