I was 9...
when I began taking lessons on the alto saxophone in 4th grade. When visiting my grandmother at an early age, she'd play me "Somewhere My Love" on her organ. I was instantly hooked on music. It was then when my parents soon purchased a second-hand upright piano from my neighbors who were moving to Pennsylvania.
I took private lessons in 1990 with a well known teacher, Chip Reid. He helped me to learn classical piano techniques and expand my music theory. Chip currently travels to homes in the Farmington Valley and can be reached at (860) 496-0874.
When I graduated high school, I attended Westfield State University in Westfield, MA earning a bachelors degree in Music Education with Concentration in Classical Saxophone. Following graduation, I moved out to Utah and apprenticed with Keith Kopp, head piano technician at BYU while studying The Randy Potter School of Piano Technology.
In 2004, my wife Saren and I were married and in 2005, moved back to Connecticut. In June I started tuning pianos for a few local dealerships while servicing pianos for clients throughout the state of Connecticut. I now tune & repair pianos for over 1,000 clients including in-home private clients, churches, colleges, public & private schools, libraries, and concert halls.
