-
Tune a new piano four times in its first year, then every six months after. This keeps steady pressure on the soundboard (the piano’s amplifier) and lets your tuner monitor its condition so it lasts for years.
-
Easy-to-use Piano Life Saver systems that keep pianos in tune longer and protect them.
-
New strings will make the piano sound much richer after deterioration or corrosion sets in.
-
LOVE the way your piano plays again! I have years of concert service training to take your mediocre performing piano to top tier.
Pianos are regulated at the factory and usually need some brush-up work in the first 5 years in a home. Pianos should be fully regulated (performance & tone) once every 5 to 15 years, as needed.
-
I restore old ivory, synthetic ivory, and acrylic keytops using traditional and modern techniques.
-
I have knowledge of the inner workings of a piano, ascertaining the true condition and worth of the instrument.

Pianos are made from parts that can fail unless treated & serviced correctly throughout the years. See what an inspection entails and book yours today.

System Benefits & Functionality
The Piano Life Saver System keeps a constant 42% relative humidity level inside the piano at all times. This provides maximum protection to soundboard stability, ultimately leading to a far more stable tuning.

Made in the USA
The Dampp Chaser Corporation has been making the Piano Life Saver System in Hendersonville, North Carolina USA since 1947. I highly recommend them for all pianos.
How It Works
The internal humidistat kicks on 2 dehumidification rods when the piano’s interior humidity reaches 43% and subsequently shutting off when it reaches 41%. The humidification tank turns on 1 primary heating element (underneath 2 wicks soaking in the water tank), dispersing water molecules into the air to elevate the humidity back to 43%. This silent & cost efficient cycle happens day and night, keeping your piano tuned & protected longer.
1. Tune your piano at 6 month intervals, or once per year.
Regular tuning keeps your piano sounding great and lasting longer. It helps maintain string tension on key parts like the bridges and soundboard. I send automatic email reminders to make scheduling your next tuning simple and stress-free!
2: 42%RH is the optimal humidity level for pianos.
Stable humidity in your piano means longer living parts, more controlled key & action performance, and a longer lasting tuning. The easiest way to control humidity is to have me install a Piano Life Saver System built right inside your piano! Never let your piano go above 55% & below 35%RH.
I also like the Govee hygrometer, like this one on Amazon, that tells me what the temperature and humidity levels are surrounding my clients’ pianos.
3: Keep it clean with the right cleaners.
A piano’s inside should be kept clean to help provide free movements of the parts and help reduce the chance for accelerated corrosion & loss of sound quality. Keeping the outside cabinetry clean also helps sustain your instrument’s value.
I offer a routine cleaning, called the Platinum Tuning Service, once per year or when the piano shows signs of needing it. I also use piano-safe-cleaners, like Cory Piano Care Products.
4: Regulate & Voice When It Is Recommended.
Regulation
The 5,000 parts inside a piano that make the keys produce sound are set and adjusted at the factory before shipping. After the piano’s breaking-in period (usually the first five years), it often needs minor or full regulation to restore the parts to the original performance and sound quality.
Voicing
Voicing is the tone or sound quality of your piano. If it sounds dull or flat, it needs voicing. I offer three levels: Light, Moderate, and Complete.
I will inspect your piano in the first 10 minutes. Inspections are free and are only charged if the primary reason for the visit is the inspection.
If you’ve not tuned in years, I have exclusive packages to clean, tune, & get your piano back up and running in just a few hours.
