Polishing & Cleaning
The “Platinum Service” (photos below) I offer is recommended once per year, or when you see dust accumulating. The importance of routine cleaning is far too often overlooked by many tuners. But when pianos accumulate dust, both internally & externally, it expedites damage in multiple areas.
Dust settling on strings turns to grime and settles within the troughs of the copper bass coils. By doing so, it changes the vibrations of the strings & expedites the corrosion/oxidation process, thus aiding in a rapid loss of tone quality and speeds up corrosion once humidity enters the dust. This will destroy the strings.
Dust inside the action parts will cause slow/sticking keys because it adds excessive friction in pivotal areas which require free movement.
Deep Polishing: The “Ultra Luxe Polish Service” (below) is recommended once every 10 years. This includes the Platinum Service plus deep polishing of all exterior cabinetry & brasswork (pedals, decals, exposed hinges). This removes light to heavy dirt & debris.
Finish Restoration: Some pianos have plenty of existing finish that may be moderately scratched. Before refinishing your piano, we can recondition your finish to return the luster in the comfort of your home.
