Why Tune Regularly

Pianos hold a massive amount string tension and energy. When seasonal changes occur, the wooden action parts and soundboard move which causes a change in tuning and performance. Regular tunings help keep pianos balanced & accurate from these changes. With concert-level expertise, I tune pianos to A440hz to keep up with the ever changing humidity levels in Connecticut homes.

Importance for Beginners & Children

Children absorb and process sound, information, and utilize motor skills quickly and early. I will help guide you on your journey to ensure your piano is both suitable for you or your family for continued musical growth. An ‘out-of-tune’ piano, or one that is poorly tuned, will hinder any musical growth. We will prevent that.

Assessment I begin every appointment with a rapid but thorough assessment of the keys, pitch, tone, action, plate, strings, soundboard, & bridges.
Fine Tuning Using advanced aural techniques combined with state-of-the-art equipment, I adjust the tension of all 250 ± strings to sound pleasing & exact

Platinum vs. Luxe

Platinum cleaning is a more common necessary piano maintenance & health approach whereas the Luxe is more of a splurge that greatly enhances its appearance. Both help sustain or elevate the piano’s value.
