I will inspect your piano in the first 10 minutes and go over all options with you. Inspections are free and are only charged if the primary reason for the visit is the inspection.
If you’ve not tuned in years, your piano may need:
pitch raising - rapid tuning procedures meant to greatly increase the strings tension back to pitch to ready it for tuning (very important, especially for beginners)
cleaning - interior cleaning helps prolong the life of the piano, keeps parts working, and sustain its value
adjustments - pianos change how the play and sound over years. I will offer you options to suit your needs.
Preparing for Tuning
A semi-quiet environment helps create an optimal tuning experience. You might also want to remove anything (non-piano related) from the piano as Randy will be removing parts of the cabinetry. First time visits range from 1 to 2.5 hours.

Most 20th & 21st century pianos are built to be tuned to A440hz, meaning A4 above middle C vibrates 440 times per second.
I tune pianos as close to pitch as possible to help keep beginners hearing the correct pitch as long as possible and keep consistent needed pressure on the soundboard.

I do what others don’t. I like to ensure your bench legs are tight, the 3 pedals work well, and the frame is tightened. A little extra care goes a long way.

The parts of the piano you touch the most with your fingers just happens to be the keytops. I have piano-safe cleaners I use to help remove grime, grease, candy, etc. A clean piano is important!

It’s HUGELY important to keep your parts clean so they move properly. Dust on strings and around tuning pins can expedite corrosion, causes parts to slow or stick, and can ruin the sound quality.
I have equipment and the know-how to properly and carefully keep your piano clean.

I use piano-safe cleaners on high gloss polyester, satin lacquer, or the various types of varnishes pianos have used over the last 100+ years. Keeping your exterior cleaning not only looks nicer but helps sustain the instrument’s value.

ACTION regulation
(recommended if the overall strength of the piano is excellent but the keys play poorly, the tone is harsh, and the tuning is in need of heavy tuning & cleaning)

In 2 to 3 days time, I will have your piano singing as good, if not better than you remember at its peak.
This option is excellent for pianos not in need of restoration or rebuilding but need rehabbing to restore the fun and sound.
